Born in Liverpool, Peter started boxing aged 10 at Everton Red Triangle boxing club and went on to win his first national competition by the time he was 12. Peter secured a bronze medal at the 2014 AIBA youth world championships in Sofia, booking himself a place at the youth Olympic games later that year where he took home another Bronze. 

 

Winning a silver medal at the 2017 U22 European championships, Peter went on to secure European gold later that year in the senior category and continued his success by winning a world bronze in Hamburg. At his first commonwealth games in 2018, Peter won gold in the men’s 56kg bantam weight category.
